Rotor Aviation, inc. was founded on the ideal of wanting to provide people with quality and safe helicopter experiences. After working for many different operators in the LA Basin, the owner of Rotor Aviation, inc. took all of the good he found in those schools and and that became the benchmark of Rotor Aviation. What type of problems did the staff at Rotor Aviation experience at other schools? A few are talked about below.

The staff saw that many students were frustrated by either the management of other schools or the instructors or both. Problems ranged from not enough helicopters, poor scheduling, complaints of instructors charging for every minute they speak with a student, to other schools' instructors saying a student needs more flight instruction hours before the student receives the necessary endorsement for her or his check ride. At Rotor Aviation, we are fair, we are honest, and we take on only as many students as we can handle to maintain our high standards. Our students achieve their goals in less time than most even with our higher standards, which means you save time and money from our efficient and productive flight instruction.

Aircraft maintenance standards varied greatly, even though all helicopters were safely maintained, performance was an issue. Facilities were always unexpectantly minimal given the expensive nature of aviation, especially rotorcraft. A decision was taken to increase the standards of the maintenance and facilities. Rotor Aviation's aircraft are maintained by qualified Robinson Engineers who insure each aircraft is operating at their maximum performance during flight as well as airworthinesss

Wanting to share the dream of providing people with quality and safe helicopter experiences, Rotor Aviation was born in the spring of 1999 and then incorporated as Rotor Aviation, inc. in November of that same year. Finally there was a platform from which cost effective, professional helicopter flight training could be brought to a wider audience.

In January of 2000, offices were opened on the west side of Long Beach Airport within the AirFlite FBO , voted the Best FBO (fixed base operator) in the Western United States by independent  pilots and charter companies. Rotor Aviation  took another leap in April of this year by opening its second operation in San Diego. Rotor Aviation's customers, staff, and aircraft enjoy the full comfort of AirFlite's facilities not only at Long Beach Airport but across the nation. And being based at Long Beach Airport means that you are already at your practice area and don't have to waste time and money doing the easy flying to practice the more difficult flying.

Rotor Aviation consistently provides its students with knowledgeable, real-world instructors that act as counselors and mentors for you in a diverse industry, as well as providing you with professional training to achieve your goals. Through the professional services of our pilots and staff. What started as one helicopter and one instructor that first year has grown to an on site fleet of 4 helicopters and as many instructors, and with its' alliances, Rotor Aviation has access to many more.
